NST Circles · Applications open
Making friends as an adult can be difficult.
That's why Nosmalltalk KL exists, a community that promotes genuine connections through fun, honest and meaningful activities. Circles are our small recurring groups, built around doing something together, and we're opening the next batch now.
If you'd like to build an intentional community with us, I'd love to hear from you.
Emily
Founder of Nosmalltalk KL
You want to build a community, not just run an event
You're comfortable with things being half-built
You take it forward without being chased
You're resourceful, and honest when something isn't landing
You'll help get the word out
People come to be real, not to be impressive. That's who NST attracts, and it's who we want running things.
Tell us the idea only you would have had. If there's something you think people in KL should be doing together and nobody is running it, that's the one we want to hear about. These five Areas are where we know people are already asking, so treat them as a sense of the range rather than a list to choose from.
Push a limit together, then let something honest surface once the guard's down.
social dance · yoga · running · strength training · cycling · reformer pilates · hyrox / functional · badminton · muay thai
Hands busy, mouths loose. The talking happens mid-chop, mid-throw, mid-sketch.
cooking & baking · pottery & ceramics · batik & traditional craft · candle & soap making · urban sketching & life drawing · coffee brewing · florals & terrariums · leatherwork
Take the thinking somewhere honest — the version people leave off LinkedIn.
professional development · self-improvement · financial literacy · reflection · philosophy · founder club · book club · film club · chess & board games
Go somewhere none of you have been, and let the getting slightly lost do the work.
outdoor exploration · history & architecture · photography walks · hawker & food trails · museums & galleries · stargazing & camping · open mic & jamming
For people in the same chapter, where shared circumstance does most of the work.
new to kl · new parents · career change · men's circle · starting over · meditation & breathwork · sober socials
Have a look at what's already running first. Hiking Trail Talks, Joy Rebels and Social Pickle Club are live right now, each with its own lead. We're widening the range rather than doubling up.
You commit to
→ Once a month, minimum
→ 2–3 hours per session, up to 20 people
→ One designed connection moment per session — a game, a prompt, movement, a shared challenge
→ Showing up consistently
NST provides
→ Access to our existing members — and a community that's already growing
→ Attendee management system
→ AI-matching algorithm (e.g. personality, interest) to enhance participants' experience
→ A cohort of other Circle Leads to build alongside
→ A share of what your Circle earns, from its first paid session
On money
Circles run free while NST builds out its community and offerings. Once we begin commercialising, you receive an agreed share of what your Circle earns. We anticipate this from early 2027.
Two things to know up front
Keep your own work separate. Plenty of our leads run their own things and that's welcome. We just ask that members are never sold to during or after a session. If there's a genuine fit, bring it to us and we'll work it out.
Instructing needs certification. If you're guiding people's bodies or holding space on personal topics, share your current certification when you apply. Organising something you all do together, like a run or badminton, doesn't need one.
Applications are open on a rolling basis
We review as they come in and reach out if you're shortlisted.
